Constitute team of specialists to checkmate flood onslaught from Nepal– Nitish Kumar

Chapra/Gopalganj,21 March,2021 (HS) Chief minister Nitish Kumar instructed the officials of Water Resource Department to constitute a team of specialists to study embankment sights to prevent the yearly flood onslaught from Nepal. Inspecting the anti breach works of embankment at Bandhauli-Sheetalpur-Faizallahpur Zamindari Bandh today, CM instructed to identify the weak points and consolidate with to prevent future trouble and and lay steel sheet piles keeping in view the populated places. He instructed to complete construction works of all the embankments till 15 May and construct damaged roads along with damaged approach roads on both sides of Satta Ghat bridge

He said that steel sheet  pile is being used in the state for the first time. He also inspected the road up to Kesariya.
Later talking with press reporters Nitish Kumar said that he had made an aerial survey during last year floods and had found that people had to suffer a lot and roads were damaged. He said that all the works have to be done in time so that people may not face the misery again . Water Resource minister Sanjay Jha, Excise minister Sunil Kumar, MP Dr. Alok Suman, MLA Prem Shankar Yadav, Secretary of Water Resource department Sanjeev Hnas, Anupam Kumar, Saran commissioner Punam, DIG Manu Maharaj, DM Nawal Kishor Chaudhry, SP Anand Kumar chief engineer Rajesh Kumar and accompanied the chief minister.
Chief minister also inspected Saran embankment at Panapur and gave necessary instruction . He said that anti breach works of embankments would be monitored from time to time by senior officers and the government is fully alert to check contain the loss caused by yearly  floods. Here MP Janardan Singh Sigriwal, MLA Janak Singh JDU leader Shailendra Pratap with other officials accompanied the CM.
