New Delhi, Feb 28 (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed 74th edition of  monthly radio programme, Mann Ki Baat. During the address, he stressed upon the importance of conserving water ahead of summers and said people have to understand the collective responsibility towards water conservation.

“In most parts of India, rain starts in May-June. Can we start a 100-day campaign from now on to harvest rainwater, to clean the waters around us? He asked the people. With this thinking, a few days from now, the Jal Shakti Abhiyan – ‘Catch the Rain’ is also being started by the Jal Shakti ministry, said the PM Modi. The basic mantra of this campaign is – Catch the rain, where it falls, when it falls,” he added.

He also lauded the contribution of science in making India a self-reliant nation and called for the people of the country to take forward ‘lab to land’ mantra.

He also wished the students ahead of their examinations. He said, “Be a warrior, not worrier.” He also invited parents, teachers for their suggestion for “Pariksha pe Charcha.”
