Congress, “urban Naxals” misleading Muslims on NRC, citizenship law: Modi
New Delhi, Dec 22 (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack at the congress party for misleading the nation over the issue of Citizen Amendment Act (CAA). He said that his rivals should burn his effigy if they hate him but they should not target the poor people of the country.
“Urban Naxals, Congress are misleading Muslims on NRC and citizenship law resulting violence across the country. The are stoking their emotions against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) law. My rivals should burn my effigy if they hate me but they should not target the poor and not to set the public property on fire,” said the Prime Minister.
The rally was organised to thank PM Modi for giving ownership rights to 40 lakh residents of 1731 unauthorized colonies. Addressing the rally, the PM said, “This is a new dawn for the people of Delhi. Both Houses gave nod to uplift the landless people of Delhi. The people who have kept the rights away from the people of Delhi can now see the joy on your faces.”
A total of 11 lakh signatures by residents of unauthorized colonies were handed over to the prime minister thanking him for the passage of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (Recognition of Property Rights of Residents in Unauthorized Colonies) Bill, 2019 in Parliament earlier this month.
“This is a new dawn for the people of Delhi. Both the Houses of Parliament gave nod to uplift the landless people of Delhi. The people who have kept the rights away from the people of Delhi can now see the joy on your faces,” PM Modi said.
While addressing the rally, Modi said that the BJP believed in sabka saath, sabka vikaas and that the party has never discriminated people for their religion. He urged people from Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan to stand up and respect Parliament for passing the citizenship law as the new law would provide citizenship to lakhs of persecuted minorities from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. He also accused congress and other opposition parties for doing shameful act of defaming India abroad.
