Ludhiana, Jan.15 (HS): Two Congress heavyweights are at warpath against Chief Minister, Capt. Amrinder Singh. One is upping the ante on corruption by Akalis during their tenure and other is protesting against Captain on the issue of sacrilege cases in which he seeks action against perpetrators.

A senior Congress leader and Punjab Pradesh Congress Chief, Sunil Jakhar has raised the issue of power purchase agreements (PPAs) demanding a white paper to be issued and measures to be taken by the state government for providing relief to consumers who are overburdened with rising power bills.
Jakhar, even, said that three years elapsed since Congress’s government was formed in the state but nothing had been done on the power front to provide succor to consumers. However, Jakhar also targets Akalis for being responsible for the mess but he also blames the government under Captain leadership for the apathy.
Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha member and former Congress Chief, Pratap Singh Bajwa demanded an all-party resolution to be passed in Vidhan Sabha for fixing responsibility for faulty PPAs.
He, even, cautioned Captain to do justice to consumers as 2022 Vidhan Sabha is coming. Bajwa, even, opens another front against Captain and demands action against perpetrators of sacrilege. He demands action in sacrilege cases.
At the same time, these war of words is going on at the backdrop of a cabinet reshuffle and war between former local bodies minister, Navjot Singh Sidhu and Captain has no need to be mentioned. Political thinktank in Ludhiana and adjoining areas are of the opinion that this exercise is instigated at the behest of Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. Sidhu is a contender for deputy chief ministership.
