Congress Condemns Targeted Violence as ‘Despicable Act’
On Monday, Congress condemned the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal, where terrorists killed a doctor and six laborers at a tunnel-construction site on the Srinagar-Leh highway. The attack occurred Sunday evening when workers had returned to their camp, officials reported.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge strongly criticized the “cowardly” attack, calling it an “inhumane and despicable act.” He assured that such violence would not stop India from advancing key infrastructure projects in Jammu and Kashmir. “As a nation, we stand united in our fight against terrorism,” Kharge stated on X.
Offering condolences, Kharge expressed sympathy for the victims’ families and wished the injured a speedy recovery. Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also condemned the attack, calling it a crime against humanity. She emphasized that the nation is united against violence and terror.
“My deepest condolences to the bereaved families, and I hope for a quick recovery for the injured,” she added.
