Congress, AAP misleading minorities on CAA,NRC: Amit Shah

New Delhi, Jan 06 (HS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah today hit out at Congress and Aam Admi Party saying both were responsible for riots in the country by misleading the minority.
“Nobody’s citizenship will be revoked under the Citizenship Amendment Act. It’s an act to give citizenship not to take from anyone. These parties are responsible for the riots which broke out….especially Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi,” asserted Amit Shah.
He was addressing people at an event here today after he laid the foundation stone for a bicycle track.
The Minister has ordered to conduct an inquiry into the incident and also asked to submit its report at earliest. The inquiry would be conducted by crime branch of Delhi police.
He also pointed out about the JNU incident of 2016 when some students raised “anti-India” slogans, saying that Delhi Chief Minister did not give sanction Delhi Police to prosecute those students for their anti national activities.
The Home Minister’s remarks came a day after some outsiders along with JNU students armed with rods and sticks forcibly entered the JNU campus and attacked students and professors, leaving several seriously injured.
Some eyewitnesses present in the campus alleged that there were as many as 100 persons, mostly outsiders and belonged to the congress and Left wing of students, attacked the ABVP students.
The students also accused that seeing the mob, they called the police who reached the spot but did not take necessary steps to stop them from entering the university campus.
