PRAYAGRAJ, March 18 (HS): Former Rajya Sabha MP and Congress leader Pramod Tiwari has said that the party will fight the panchayat elections with full strength over the local issues. The panchayat polls will herald a new beginning for the party in Uttar Pradesh, he claimed, while addressing workers.

During a meeting with the office-bearers and workers in the district Congress office on Thursday, All India Congress Working Committee (AICWC) member Pramod Tiwari said that the party will contest the elections on issues like unemployment, inflation, and farmers’ woes. “We raised issues like unemployment, problems of farmers, collapsed law and order and corruption among the public. By fighting for the solution of other problems of the village and the poor, by informing the people of the failures of the Modi-Yogi government, we will also fight the upcoming panchayat elections very strongly. Congress will enter the electoral field in the Panchayat polls with issues of public interest such as unemployment, rising inflation, historic spike in the petrol-diesel prices, farmers’ issues and the failures of the Yogi government. We will go to the public and tell them about how Narendra Modi duped them in the name of achhe din and instead gave them hosts of problems through rising fuel prices, inflation, rising crime, by introducing three black farm laws, not paying the arrears of sugarcane farmers,” he said and added, “Uttar Pradesh is passing through an era of chaos. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s government has been proved unsuccessful on all fronts. Law and order is so bad that incidents of murder, rape and robbery are taking place daily. Unemployment is at its peak. Petrol and diesel prices are skyrocketing. The common people are worried due to the rising inflation. The kind of unemployment being seen in rural life has never been witnessed before.

The former Rajya Sabha member said that under the Congress organization creation campaign, the party’s organization has been constituted till the Nyay Panchayat level. The Congress party’s strength will emerge in the Panchayat elections. “While we are focusing on the outreach program at the Nyaya Panchayat level and identification of candidates, we are also exposing the claims of the BJP government about the farm laws. We are telling people about how it has snatched away the rights of farmers,” he said before signing off.
