CM Yogi inspects dam projects in Mahoba, Banda & Chitrakoot

Banda/Mahoba, 10 March (HS) :      Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday, the second day of his Bundelkhand visit, inspected dam projects in  Mahoba, Banda and Chitrakoot districts. He on the day inaugurated and laid foundation stone of various development projects in Banda district.

CM Yogi after inspecting Lahchura Dam of Arjun Sahayak Irrigation Project in Mahoba district addressed a public meeting there and said that the project would bring a positive change in the lives of the farmers of the Bundelkhand region. He said that the project will provide irrigation facilities to 1.5 lakh farmers of the region. It will also provide drinking water to over four lakh people, he added.

He said that the Arjun Sahayak Irrigation Project worth Rs 2600 crore will be completed within next two month and it would be inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

While describing the importance of the river CM Yogi, on the occasion said that the rivers are not only the source of water but also these have been the basis of Indian culture. He alleged that the previous governments failed to identify our culture and the significant role of rivers.

The CM on the also addressed a public meeting in Banda and and alleged that the previous governments ignored the Bundelkhand region. In Banda the CM inaugurated an exhibition at Bana Agriculture University. The CM also inaugurated and laid foundation stone of various development projects worth Rs 924 crore.

During his inspection in Chitrakoot district the CM inaugurated Rasin Dam and saw the presentation of Bundelkhandi Diwari folk dance. BJP’s state unit president Swatantra Dev Singh and Minister for Jal Shakti Department Dr Mahendra Singh were also present during the CM’s visit.

CM Yogi, on a two-day visit of Bundelkhand region reached Jalaun on Tuesday. On the first day he visited Jalaun, Lalitpur and Jhansi where he inspected the construction work of Bundelkhand Expressway. Besides, he inaugurated and laid foundation stone of 78 development projects worth Rs 1664 crore.
