CM Yogi inaugurates 3-day UP Diwas celebrations

Lucknow, 24 January (HS) :     The 71st foundation day of Uttar Pradesh (UP Diwas) is being celebrated across the state on Sunday. The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanth inaugurated the three-day celebration at Awadh Shilpa Gram in Lucknow.

While speaking on the occasion CM Yogi said that UP was neglected for the last 70 years. The previous government even did not celebrate the foundation day of the state, he said adding that his government when came to power they started celebrating UP Diwas in 2018.

It may be mentioned here that the idea regarding celebration of UP foundation day was proposed by the former Governor Ram Naik during his tenure in 2017. Later the Yogi government announced that 24th January will be celebrated as UP Diwas every year. The first edition of UP Diwas was organised in 2018 and now the state is celebrating 4th edition of its foundation day across UP. To mark the day main functions are being held in Lucknow and Noida from January 24 to 26. The theme of the celebration is ‘Self-reliant Uttar Pradesh.’

CM Yogi on the inaugural day launched an app, ‘UDYAM SARTHI’ of MSME department. He on the occasion announced the launch of an ambitious free coaching facility programme for the students preparing for various competitive examinations. The ‘ABHUDAYA’ coaching classes will be started from Basant Panchami, he said.

The CM on the occasion honoured some distinguished persons for their significant achievement in different fields including culture, sports, agriculture and dairy. Cultural programmes were also organised on the occasion.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief Ministers of some states have greeted the people of UP on the occasion of state’s foundation day. The PM in his greetings said that UP is playing an important role in building ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-reliant India).
