CM Yogi distributes appointment letters to newly selected Deputy SPs

Lucknow,  11 April  (HS) :     Uttar Pradesh  Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath  handed over appointment letters to newly selected Deputy Superintendents of Police at a ceremony in Lok Bhavan here on Saturday. These police officers were selected through Combined State and Upper Subordinate Services Examination-2018 conducted by the UP Public Service Commission.

CM Yogi, on the occasion exhuded happiness that the image of Uttar Pradesh police was changing after 2017. “Owing to the professional commitment, practicality, efficiency and police reforms, the UP police has been a much-demanded force for deployment even in the elections of other states,” he said.

Congratulating the newly appointed Deputy SPs for being part of the world’s largest civilian police service, the CM said that till four years ago, every appointment in UP was questioned. ” Discrimination and nepotism used to be the order of the day and merit was ignored in the recruitments while today every appointment  is based on fairness, transparency and honesty, ” CM Yogi pointed out saying ” in the present government, not a single appointment can be questioned as only qualified and competent are selected.” He took pride in stating that the credibility of the Public Service Commission had been restored.

UP Police has raised the bar  in front of the world

CM was all praise for UP police for setting high standards in front of the global community on many occasions like  Pravasi Bharatiya Divas celebrations at  Varanasi in 2019 followed by a huge event like Prayagraj Kumbh. Not only this, the Lok Sabha elections were also two months later. People were apprehensive as to how all this would be manged.  ” It was so heartening that about

7000 delegates from 76 countries in Varanasi not only praised the event in Kashi, but appreciated the efficiency of UP police, ” he recalled adding “similarly, it was not easy to conduct a peaceful election at 163000 booths in 80 Lok Sabha seats, but was done in the most professional manner.”

 The CM was particularly happy with the work done by the UP police in the Prayagraj Kumbh where about 25 crore devotees had come. ” It was the standard of the UP police which received admiration of the whole world, ” said the CM.

Yogi said that all necessary steps are being taken at the government level for police reforms. The much awaited Police Commissioner system has been implemented at four places but it is up to the force to make it success.

  CM Yogi also told the new officers about the challenges of police and the importance of duty. Referring to the dignity, integrity and discipline of the post, the CM  said that recently the government had  compulsarily retired three erring senior police officers.
