CM Nitish Kumar expresses concern over environment

Chapra/Gopalganj, Dec 6 (HS): Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has touched upon the issue of  climatic changes and expressed his concern over this global issue, which is changing the course of life for worse. He has expanded his vision and has started Jal Jeevan Hariyali Yatra to aware the people of environmental changes and  enlightening to check mate it. He said that life would exist only in the midst of water and greenery.

“If the environment is not protected, the life on earth would be in crises. He said that earlier rain fall in Bihar used to be between 1200 to 1500 mili liters and date of monsoon was almost fixed and monsoon session used to take place in time,” said the CM.

He felt concerned and started this Jal Jeevan Hariyali Yatra to aware people, because his government was committed to not only doing development with justice, but also to make better lives of people and aware them to face the challenges.

He then went on to underline the achievements of his government asserting that whatever better changes have occurred, it were due to the sincere efforts of the government of latest fourteen years. He said that his government was committed to development of each section and each area. His government has empowered the women and has brought them in sections of main stream.
Road map of agriculture was prepared as the people reposed faith in his government, the budget of the state has risen to more than two lakhs crores, which was a meager 25 thousand crores earlier.
He said that in the sphere of girl education, dress and cycle programmes have made revolutionary changes. Their self confidence developed and the mind set has also changed. He said that his government has banned liquor in the state on the request of women. Now, supply of drinking water and electricity to each house is near for completion.
