CM: Four Illegal Infiltrators Deported to Bangladesh
Assam has ramped up its efforts to tackle illegal infiltration along the India-Bangladesh border. On Monday, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that Assam Police arrested four Bangladeshi infiltrators—Jahangir, Nukadia Bibi, Rumana, and Hussain—near the border. The infiltrators were swiftly deported back to Bangladesh.
The arrests highlight Assam’s ongoing battle against cross-border infiltration. The state, sharing a long border with Bangladesh, has faced persistent issues with illegal migration. In recent years, the Assam government has intensified border security to address this challenge.
Chief Minister Sarma shared the update on social media, stating, “We are fully vigilant against infiltration. Our Assam Police arrested four Bangladeshi infiltrators on the India-Bangladesh border and sent them back to Bangladesh.”
He also praised the Assam Police for their dedication in safeguarding the state’s borders. “Day by day, I appreciate the work of our policemen, who have helped in preventing infiltration by protecting the borders,” Sarma said.
This action underscores the government’s firm stance on border security and its commitment to curbing illegal immigration into the state. The swift deportation of the infiltrators reflects Assam’s proactive measures in managing border security issues.
