Coldplay, led by Chris Martin, made history with a massive concert at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on January 26. The show, part of their Music of the Spheres tour, marked the band’s largest performance yet, with an audience of 130,000. The concert was also live-streamed on Disney+ Hotstar, reaching an even broader global audience. Prior to Ahmedabad, Coldplay had performed in Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21, wrapping up their India leg of the tour.

Despite the success of their India shows, Chris Martin is not slowing down. He is set to take the stage again at the Grammy Awards ceremony on February 2. The Recording Academy confirmed this on Wednesday through a post on X, announcing that Martin would join the impressive roster of performers at this year’s ceremony. Other confirmed performers include Academy Award-nominated Cynthia Erivo, John Legend, and Stevie Wonder.

The Grammy Awards ceremony, however, will have a different focus this year. In light of the recent catastrophic wildfires in Los Angeles, the Recording Academy has decided to use the event as a platform for giving back. The telecast will raise funds for wildfire relief efforts and honor first responders who have risked their lives to combat the flames. While the Academy had considered postponing the ceremony or airing it as a fundraiser, it ultimately decided to proceed with the event while incorporating a charitable cause.

The Grammys will still feature the usual excitement, with Beyoncé leading the nominations with 10 nods. Other nominees include Taylor Swift, Charli XCX, Post Malone, Sabrina Carpenter, Kendrick Lamar, and Chappell Roan.

Meanwhile, Chris Martin and his girlfriend, actor Dakota Johnson, traveled to India on January 16 for Coldplay’s tour. The couple enjoyed their time in the country, where Chris and the band made unforgettable memories during their performances.
