Give credit to lawyer Aparna Bhatt in the film Chhapak: Delhi High
New Delhi, Jan 11 (HS): The Delhi High Court has directed Fox Studios, the producer of the film Chhapak , to give credit to lawyer Aparna Bhatt in the film. The High Court directed that the film would be screened with credits from January 15 at the multiplex.
The court said that from January 17 on the live streaming platform, the film has to be played by giving credit to lawyer Aparna Bhatt. The High Court reserved the judgment on 10 January on the plea of Fox Studios, the producer of the film.
The petition said that in 1600 screens and 1200 theaters, a large number of people have booked advance ticket. The petition stated that the trial court heard on the same date and gave a unilateral order. He was not even given any notice before ordering so that he could present his side.
“Delhi High Court restrains from releasing of film ‘Chhapaak’ without giving credit to lawyer Aparna Bhat, who represented survivor Lakshmi in her legal battle. The restraint will be effective from January 15 for multiplexes and live streaming and for others from January 17.”
It is notable that film is made on acid attack victim.The film stars actress Deepika Padukone in the lead role. Recently, Deepika Padukone has been engulfed in controversies owing to her visit the JNU and lending support.
