New Delhi, Nov 3 ( HS): The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made changes in the pattern of class 10th and 12th for the 2019-20 session. Now on every topic the paper will have 25 percent multiple-choice questions.

CBSE has changed the pattern of class 10th and 12th. On Monday, Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made changes in the pattern of class 10th and 12th from 2019-20 session to enhance students’ deep thinking and reasoning ability.

He was replying in response to a question raised by MPs Keshari Dev Patel and Chirag Paswan in Lok Sabha here today.

“20 percent of the questions in the question paper will be multiple choice and 10 percent will be made creative. Students will get an internal option in 33 percent of all the questions,” said Pokhriyal.

Now every paper will have 25 percent multiple-choice questions. At the same time, the internal assessment will be taken from this time in subjects that are not practical.

The internal assessment will be of 20 marks. These changes will also be applicable in the 10th and 12th board examinations to be held in 2020. In this regard, the CBSE also issued a circular a few days ago.

According to this circular, in order to pass the 10th standard, students have to get 33 percent marks in practical and theory in each subject. He said that this is not in the case of 12th class students.

Students of class 12th have to get 33 percent marks in practical, theory and internal assessment separately. In the 12th examination, it will be necessary to bring 23 marks in the subject of 70 marks and 26 marks in the subject of 80 marks.
