CAC gets its new AOC-IN-C
PRAYAGRAJ, February6 (HS): Air Marshal Amit Tiwari Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM) Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) Vayu Sena Medal (VM) took over as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) of Central Air Command (CAC). An alumnus of National Defence Academy, Defence Services Staff College Wellington, College of Defence Management Secunderabad and National Defence College New Delhi, the Air Marshal was commissioned in the Flying branch of Indian Air Force on 04 June 1982 as a fighter pilot. The Air Officer has flown wide variety of fighter aircraft. He has over 3500 hours of flying experience in various challenging sectors. He is a Qualified Flying Instructor (QFI).
In a career spanning over 38 years the Air Marshal has held a number of coveted Command and staff appointments which include Team Leader of the prestigious Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team, Station Commander of a frontline IAF base, the Indian Air Attache at Afghanistan, Air Defence Commander and Senior Officer-in-Charge Administration at an operational command. He has also held the appointments of Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Training) at Air Headquarters, Commandant Air Force Academy and Air Officer-in-Charge Personnel at Air Headquarters. Prior to his present appointment as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Central Air Command, he was the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Air Command.
During his illustrious career, the Air Officer has been the recipient of Presidential Awards Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM), Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) and Vayu Sena Medal (VM), informed Shailendra Pandey, Wing Commander, Public Relations Officer, Ministry of Defence, Prayagraj.
