Kolkata, 10 July (HS) : In less than a month after internationally famous model Ushashi Sengupta was heckled and abused by some youths in this City of Joy,a well known actress of television serial has to face the same ordeal today, but this time from an Aap cab driver in broad day light in South Kolkata causing concern to all.
According to Swastika Dutta,a popular Bengali TV serial actress, she was allegedly heckled, abused and even pulled out of the hired cab by force by its driver after he refused to go to the destination for which he was booked and used filthy language against the passenger.
In an FIR lodged at Tiljala police station near the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass after the incident, the 22 year old actress complained that after booking the cab from near her residence this morning, the App Cab driver, identifed as one Jamshed ,after travelling some distance, refused to go further to her destination in the Southern fringe of the city at around 9 a.m.this morning and asked Swastika, who was accompanied by her father, to get down immediately.
But when she refused, he not only used filthy language against her and her father,he took the cab to his locality and forced Dutta out of the car by pulling her hands, leaving the young actress ‘dumbfounded’.
Later she left the place and reached her destination in another private cab.
But as she posted her horrific experience in the Social media,it soon became viral.Soon Sports minister Arup Biswas and senior Police officials called her over telephone and promised ‘prompt action’.
Though it is not yet known whether any action has so far been taken to book the alleged cab driver on charge of misconduct and un gentleman like behaviour, but the police said soon the accused would be arrested and  be interrogated for his action.
It may be recalled that this was the third such incident in the city and its neighbouhood when common people were being heckled and harassed by App cab drivers for no apparent reasons besides refusing to go to their destination in spite of accepting the booking.
