Burhan Wani death anniversary: Internet services suspended in Kashmir

Srinagar, July. 8 (HS): Separators have called for a Kashmir-wide protests and clashes on Monday to remind the terrorist organization Hizbul Mujahideen’s poster boy Burhan Wani on his third anniversary, after which authorities on Sunday launched mobile internet facility in four districts of South Kashmir suspended.
Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL), a group of separatist groups led by Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik , has appealed to people to have a bund in Kashmir on Monday to remember the martyrdom of Burhan Wani.
Responding to the plans of separatists, officials suspended Internet services on Sunday in Anantnag, Pulwama, Kulgam and Shopian districts. Police sources said, “Other preventive measures will be taken to maintain law and order in the valley.”
Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh said that all the measures have been done to ensure that the day of the marriage comes out peacefully. He said that the Amarnath Yatra will not have any effect on this.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson of the police told that the convoy of Srinagar-Jammu National Highway will not be allowed to pass on Monday. Although they did not give any reason, but it is believed that this decision has been taken in the wake of Burhan’s anniversary.
On July 8, 2016, Hizb’s commander Terrorist Burhan Wani had been killed by security forces in an encounter.
On his anniversary, separatists have called for the closed of Kashmir on Monday.  On Sunday, internet services in Kashmir’s South Kashmir were blocked. On Monday, it will be affected in other areas also. Strict security arrangements have been made by the security forces in Kashmir and Jammu.
