BSP Supremo Mayawati reviews party preparations for Panchayat polls

Lucknow, 10 March (HS) :        The President of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Mayawati on Wednsday completed five-day review work of party preparations for upcoming three-tier Panchayat Polls in Uttar Pradesh. She on the occasion held Congress and its policies responsible for the rise of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).

Mayawati said that the BJP is in power because of the wromg and anti people policies of the Congress party. She alleged that the BJP Governments at the Centre as well as in the state are ignoring the interests of the common people.

BSP supremo on the occasion directed the party coordinators to celebrate the birth anniversary of party founder Kanshi Ram on March 15 across the state on a grand scale.

During the review meetings Mayawati asked the party coordinators to finalize the campaign strategy and the names of candidates for panchayat polls in a serious manner.

It may be mentioned here that the UP government and the State Election Commission are preparing on war footing for the three-tier panchayat polls. It is expected that the election commission will announce the dates in the last week of March. Almost all the political parties including ruling party BJP, SP, BSP, Congress and Aam Admi Party are likely to openly declare support to the candidates this time in the panchayat polls, which are not contested on party symbols.
