New Delhi, 10/01/2020 :While addressing a gathering of book lovers on the 28th edition of the World Book Fair at Pragati Maidan of New Delhi, noted author and the youth icon Dr Birbal Jha said, “books are the weapons by which you can eradicate the swirling fog of ignorance. What remains everlasting in this world is the presentation of your work and good deeds. Once you write something or something good is written about you is well recorded and documented in the form of a book or the like, it is handed down from generation to generation”.

“Every human being is born with unique features. A varying thumb impression is the most convincing example of it. Therefore, you must leave your indelible impression, not just merely giving a thumb impression of yours. When thinking of possibly doing so, one of the great things could be possibly writing a book or about it’ added Dr Jha while spurring the young generation on to get hold of their pen and write something lying in their hearts and minds.

“Writing a book is not a one-day affair but writing a few pages could be an easy job. If you put the pieces together, over some time it will take a shape of a book for which a publisher like Gullybaba Publishing House is there to help manifest your creation. The writing something about a book is the most valuable return gift to an author who takes pains day and night to reach and present you his /her thoughts, innermost feelings, perception or observation in this world” added Dr Jha, who heads British Lingua, an institute for communication skills of international repute.

Opening the eyes of those in attendance, he laid emphasis and said “each of us is expected to add value to this world. It could be many ways. The literary value is incomparable. There is often a great bearing of a book on our life as it impacts us in many ways. Hence, let’s value writing a book or about a book”.

To the query what to write on, he said, “a book may work as a manifesto for change. Examining a gamut of subjects – from education to employment from corruption to casteism – our book may reflect on what we can do right to move forward and become a truly modern, progressive country. Through books, we can strive to find solutions to the country’s problems rather than criticizing its failures in a negative spirit and believe in personal growth as well as national progress”.

“In a world ridden with negativity, the simply written books with perceptive and solution-driven essays can be a must-read for anyone interested in the growth of a nation. If tangible white darkness shuts you in the great ship, tense and anxious, the light that could enlighten the path emanates from books. Books should be written to disseminate the knowledge far and wide so that the readers may coruscate in their chosen fields”, he concluded sending a strong message.

While offering a vote of thanks, Dinesh Verma, managing director of Gullybaba praised Dr Jha’s efforts and literary contributions.
