Boeing announces 100 million dollar fund for families of 737 Max crash

Chicago, July 4(HS): Boeing announced on Wednesday that it would provide financial assistance of 100 million dollar (about 688 crores) to the families of victims of two accidents in 737 Max. 346 passengers were killed in two plane accidents. In Indonesia, 189 people were killed in an air crash in October last year, while 157 people died in Ethiopia’s plane crash on March 10 this year.
In a statement in Chicago, the company said that it would work to improve the education, livelihood of the afflicted families and promote their economic status. For this, the company will work with local governments and non-governmental organizations.
Boeing tweeted, Today we announced 100 million dollars  in funds to address family and community needs of those affected by the tragic accidents of JT610 and ET302. These funds will support education and hardship expenses for the families and communities impacted.
The company’s president and CEO Dennis Mulinberg said, “We are sorry for the loss of life in Boeing accidents. We have deep sympathy for the families. We hope that this initial amount will provide some relief to them.”
