BJP’s Om Birla elected as Lok Sabha speaker, PM Modi leads him to chair

New Delhi, Jun.19 (HS): BJP MP from Rajasthan’s Kota-Bundi, Om Birla  took charge as the speaker of the Lok Sabha today.
The nomination of Om Birla a two-time MP from Kota, Rajasthan has been supported by ten political parties including Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) will support the candidature of candidate Birla for the post.
In the House, Prime Minister Modi proposed the name of Om Birla , Defense Minister Rajnath Singh supported the proposal. Amit Shah , Nitin Gadkari , Arvind Sawant, along with the Opposition, welcomed Om Birla .After that, the Prime Minister Modi leads him chair .
of the Lok Sabha Speaker. During this, Om Birla also thanked all the members of the House.
Earlier, Birla played an important role in Rajasthan politics. He was MLA from Kota in 2003 , 2008 and 2013. He has been a legislator three times and MP twice.
PM Modi said, ‘It is a matter of great pride for the House and we all congratulate Om Birla Ji on being unanimously elected as the Speaker of the Lok Sabha.. He has served in the state of Rajasthan as well”.
