Kolkata, 28 June (HS): With more and more people across West Bengal demanding immediate refund of the ‘cut money’ they had paid to various Trinamool Congress leaders to get the benefits of several government schemes,BJP has decided to stage dharnas and organise demonstrations in every district  on 1 July in protest against such widescale corruption .
Disclosing this BJP sources informed Hindusthan Samachar here today that since the cut money issue had now taken a massive proportion all over West Bengal with hundreds of people in almost every district demanding immediate refund of  the alleged commission or cut money they had paid during the past several years to local TMC Panchayat and other leaders,BJP had decided to come to the aid of these hapless poor people and take every step to help them recover their hard earned money.
As part of this statewide programme the party had also decided to organise massive protests in front of all Panchayat and other state government offices in every district next Monday (1 July) to press for the demand  by staging dharnas in front of them with large number of those affected people, the sources said.
But if there was no satisfactory reply from the accused people about their commitment to return the money they took  within a time frame, BJP would orgasnise a massive rally as the Hazra crossing in South Kolkta the very next day.
‘If Police refuse permission for such a rally, we shall go to the nearby residence of Chief minister Mamata Banerjee in Kalighat area to stage a dharna near her house to press for the demand of early return of cut money’, the sources said.
It may be stated here that about a week ago the Chief minister during her address to party Councillors and other leaders openly mentioned that she was fully aware that a section of her (TMC)  party leaders had been accepting huge commission in the form of cut money on regular basis from even the poorest of the poor people for extending benefits of government development schemes to them.
‘You all must return these unaccounted money to the people at once’,she directed her party leaders in a bid to improve the overall image of her party. But instead it had opened the  Pandoras’ box in every district  where hundreds of people, mostly in rural Bengal, have been demonstrating and gheraoing the allegedly corrupt party leaders and even making seize of their houses demanding immediate return of the money they had reportedly paid to these leaders.
In most of these cases the situation had become so serious that the alleged person was forced to agree to the villagers’ ultimatum about the possible refund causing serious concern to the district as well as the state administration   in view of law and order problem.
