BJP reiterates Nitish will be CM face of NDA in assembly polls

Patna, June 06 (HS): The BJP has once again stated that the NDA will contest next assembly election with Nitish Kumar as CM face. Bihar BJP in-charge Bhupendra Yadav reiterated this on Saturday while monitoring the preparations for Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s virtual rally here on Sunday. Earlier Amit Shah himself had publicly made this announcement twice in order to clear all misgivings in the NDA.

Yadav said, “In Bihar the NDA is working strongly and the alliance will go to election under the leadership of Nitish Kumar.”

The debate over the leadership and who will be NDA’s CM face once again started with the statement of LJP president Chirag Paswan who raked up the controversy once started by some disgruntled elements in the BJP who do not see Nitish Kumar eye to eye. It was amid that controversy that Amit Shah first in a TV interview then at a party rally in Vaishali made it amply clear, that Nitish Kumar will be the CM face in next assembly election.

In fact the JD(U) president and Chief Minister does  not take junior Paswan seriously and even ignores his letters and suggestions. The Jamui MP has stated that the BJP should take a decision who will lead the NDA government after winning the assembly election. He further said if the BJP favoured Nitish Kumar for the leadership his party LJP would also support it.

The political circles here see Paswan’s statement with suspicion because the BJP had repeatedly clarified its stand on Bihar affairs and after the statement by Shah there was hardly any confusion in the NDA. This statement had almost silenced the people in NDA who were expecting that BJP might not give a fourth tenure to Nitish Kumar following his decision to quit NDA in 2015.
