BJP observes ‘black day’

Shrirampur, June 25, (HS) BJP workers of Shrirampur observed Black Day on Thursday evening by walking in a rally from Mahesh to Shrirampur police station, wearing black batches and carrying placards. Shyamal Bose, president of Shrirampur organisational district of the BJP said, “On this very day in the year 1975 the contemporary Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had imposed emergency in the country. During emergency there was no freedom of speech. A large number of innocent people were sent to jail without any reason and the people of the country had to face brutal tortures of the police. So the BJP observes Black Day on June 25 every year.”
