BJP National President JP Nadda reeling in Maithil Voters in Delhi
New Delhi, 5.02.2020 With an eye on the considerable numbers of voters around 40 lacs in Delhi, the BJP President JP Nadda reached out to Maithili speaking migrants in the national capital, on the lookout for their votes on 8th February, the day Delhi Assembly Polls.
He was speaking at a function held at the sprawling residence of Rajya Sabha member and BJP National Vice President Prabhat Jha on Copernicus Marg in the national capital.
“I will safeguard the interest and value of the Mithila Paag, cultural symbol which has been conferred on me as a token of honour”, he said addressing the alfresco gathering. It was his first-ever interaction with the mammoth jamboree of people from the Mithila belt after he was made the president of the party.
The confident Nadda, making a scathing attack on CM Arvind Kejriwal led Government pointed out how unsafe drinking water supplied to the people of the NCT as per reports placed by Bureau of Indian standard.
“Kejriwal is playing the politics of an eye-wash with the false commitments and wrong data and also plundering the government’s exchequer on advertisements for which people should teach him a lesson by their votes”, added Nadda.
Speaking on the occasion, the veteran leader Prabhat Jha called upon Maithil migrants to stand united and vote for the BJP to get a fair share in the government formation in Delhi.
Dr Birbal Jha, noted author and chairman of Mithilalok Foundation representing the community welcomed JP Nadda with a bouquet in the felicitation ceremony held here. The legendary figure and crusader Dr Birbal Jha has been in limelight for his cultural movement – ‘Save the paag Campaign’ following which postage on Paag was issued in 2017 by the Narendra Modi-led Central Government.
It is yet to see whether BJP’s love for and reaching out to Maithils translate into votes in the electoral battle where neck to neck contest is reported to be in the offing.
