BJP MP Ram Swaroop Sharma found hanging at his Delhi residence
New Delhi, 17 March (HS): A BJP MP from Himachal Pradesh, Ram Swaroop Sharma, was found dead at his residence in Delhi on Wednesday. The police said, they are investigating whether it was a case of suicide.
“He was found hanging inside his room, which was locked from inside. No suicide note has been found,” the Delhi Police PRO Chinmoy Biswal said.
He further said, Sharma (62), was found hanging in his room. He was taken to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
The initial investigation revealed that it is a case of suicide. No suicide note was recovered from the spot.
Police officials said that Sharma’s personal assistant alerted the police control room around 7.45 am after the parliamentarian did not respond to knocks on his door. A police team was rushed to his residence immediately and forced open the door and found Sharma hanging.
The body has been sent for post mortem and an inquiry has been initiated into the matter.
