BJP leader Gulfam Singh Yadav was murdered in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal district on Monday. Three men arrived on a bike, greeted him, and asked for water while he sat at his farm in Daftara village. After gaining his trust, one of them injected him with a poisonous substance and fled.

Yadav’s health worsened instantly. He screamed in pain, alerting his family and nearby residents. His son rushed him to a local health center, but doctors referred him to Aligarh Medical College. He died on the way.

Police reached the scene and launched an investigation. Circle Officer Deepak Tiwari confirmed that no formal complaint had been filed by Yadav’s family. A forensic team collected evidence, including an empty injection and a helmet. Officers also sent Yadav’s shoes and glasses for forensic examination. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being reviewed to identify the attackers.

Despite an autopsy at Aligarh Medical College, doctors could not confirm the exact cause of death. Authorities have preserved his viscera for further analysis.

Yadav was a prominent BJP leader and former vice president of the party’s western Uttar Pradesh unit. In the 2004 Gunnaur assembly by-election, he contested against Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav. His wife has served as the pradhan of Dabhaura Himachal three times.

Police continue searching for the suspects, and officials are urging Yadav’s family to file a complaint to speed up the investigation.
