BJP accuses TMC of corruption
Jangipara, 24 June (HS) Accusing the TMC of mass corruption in different government schemes, the BJP on Wednesday, organised a protest at Jangipara BDO office in Hooghly district. Hundreds of BJP workers assembled at the BDO office and raised slogans against the TMC.
The protesters alleged that the TMC leaders were involved in large scale of corruption cases in different government schemes such as post Amphan relief, MANREGA and Pradhanmantri Aawas Yojana.
“They prepared lists of their own people and illegally benefited them, whereas genuine people remained deprived of benefits of government schemes, ” said a protester.
However, the protesters calmed down following an assurance from the BDO to look into the matter.
The TMC, on the other hand slammed the BJP for creating trouble . TMC president of Hooghly district Dilip Yadav said, “The BJP is protesting just to be in the lime light, but they are never seen when people are in distress and need help.
