Bengal records highest single day Covid-19 spike
Kolkata, June 27, (HS) West Bengal has recorded its highest single-day spike of Corona cases. In a statement issued by the state health department, 542 fresh cases have been reported in the past 24 hours. Of these, Howrah has reported 110 new Covid cases, while Kolkata has reported 128 Covid cases, whereas North 24 Parganas has reported 99 Covid cases in a single day. These three districts remain a major concern for state government.
Howrah has reported 2,375 Covid cases so far, out of which 628 are active cases, 1,668 have recovered and 89 people died. Kolkata has reported 5,261 Corona cases, out of which 3,014 people recovered and 354 people died so far. There are 1893 active cases in Kolkata.
The total number of Covid cases now stands at 16,190 while 5,039 are active cases currently. As many as 616 fatalities have been reported in the state. The discharge rate in the state is 65 per cent.
