Bengal Governor convens All Party meeting tomorrow

Kolkata,12 June (HS): Expressing serious concern at the growing incidents of post poll violence in several districts and with a view to reviewing the whole situation with all major political parties,West Bengal Governor Kesri Nath Treipathi has convened an urgent All Party meeting at Raj Bhavan here tomorrow.
Informing this sources at Raj Bhavan  informed Hindusthan Samachar here this evening that the Governor who met Prime minister Narendra Modi and Union Home minister Amit Shah  during his recent visit to New Delhi, had submitted a detailed report to both of them elaborating the whole situation in the state after the conclusion of Lok Sabha poll in which,according to him, as many as 12 people had so far lost their lives in political violence.
Though he refused to disclose the details of his talks with the Prime minister and the Union Home minister, it was learnt that he expressed serious concern at the unabated incidents of political violence and arson in the state in which many people,including some women were also injured and had to take shelter elsewhere for feat of further attacks,and could have recommended strong steps.
Keeping all these incidents in mind and particularly in view of the latest violence at Sandeshkhali and Basirhat in North 24 Parganas district where several supporters of both BJP and Trinamool Congress were killed and some others injured in separate incidents,the Governor had  now decided to convene an All Party meeting tomorrow at Raj Bhavan at 4- P.M. to discuss the issue threadbare besides urging every political party to shun violence and maintain absolute peace,calm and harmony among all sections of people in this peace loving state,the sources said.
Though BJP, Congress and Cpi-m have welcomed the meeting with the Governor tomorrow,the decision of ruling Trinamool Congress on whether they would participate in the meeting is not yet known. However the TMC Youth wing President  and the nephew of Chief minister – Avishek  Banerjee has indicated that some minister might join the meeting with some reservations about its purpose.
Now it remains to be seen what comes out from tomorrow’s all important meeting and whether it would be able to end the cycle of post poll violence in the state.
