Atulya Ganga team reached Prayagraj after covering 3000 km in 100 days
PRAYAGRAJ, March 28 (HS): The Atulya Ganga team reached Prayagraj by undertaking the historic, grand the incredible Ganga Parikrama of 3000 km, in 100 days. Armed with the darshan of Maa Ganga, the soldiers conceptualized Mundmal Ganga Parikrama as the main objective of the Incredible Ganga. Parikrama team leader Gopal Sharma said that the love of the citizens situated on the banks of the Ganges is doubling the morale of the incredible Ganga team.
Started from Prayagraj on 16 December, this journey, is 6000 km long to be completed in 8 months, is the world’s toughest and longest journey which is mentioned in the ures, but till date no one has done such a parikrama of Mother Ganga. The soldiers from Armed forces and their other companions are determined to complete this adventurous journey and will continue through the cities, villages, plains, crossing mountains, forests and glaciers. This journey is not a journey, it is a vow that will allow us to breathe only after the Ganga Maiya is again rejuvenated and achieves its pristine glory. Therefore, along with the yatra, team is running many such campaigns whose results will be far-reaching and bring back the glory to Mother Ganga. Our main campaigns in this journey are as follows –
Pollution Measurement: We are scientifically checking the quality of Ganga water every 10 km during the journey, the details of which will be available on their website every year.
Identification of pollution sources: Every drain falling in the Ganges river is being identified and detailed data is being prepared for each such source of pollution along with its geo-locking system. So far, pollution is at 500+ points and the source has been reviewed.
Vrikshamal Abhiyan: Team is planting trees for the purpose of preserving, constructing the environment on the entire Parikrama path. Team is requesting to appoint a local guardian of planted trees till plants grow up. By the end of this penance that may last for 11 years, we would have enclothed a garland of trees, Vrikshamal, to Mother Ganga. So far, 25000+ trees have been planted.
Jan Jagaran Abhiyan: The condition of Ganga will improve only when every person of the society will worry about it. That is why they are doing public awakening during this Parikrama.
Permanent Parikrama companions: Col RP Pandey (Pune), Hirenbhai Patel (Ahmedabad), Rohit Umrao (Bareilly), Rohit Jat (Hapur), Shagun Tyagi (Hapur), Commander Vishwanathan (Kerala).
“Rivers are the invaluable basis of life, which gives water and culture to our life and agriculture. And then Ganga is our mother, our revered goddess! The debt of our ancestors and our future generations is upon us, from which we will be free only when we make the Mother Ganga completely pollution free and bring it back in the same supernatural form, informed Shailendra Pandey, Wing Commander, Public Relations Officer, Ministry of Defence, Prayagraj.
