Assam protest : Your rights are ensured: PM .

New Delhi / Dispur, Dec 12 (HS): Protests against the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) continue in Northeast India. The protest is being seen most in Assam. In Guwahati, protesters burnt a bus and torched  Tinsukia and Dibrugarh railway stations.

Amid violent protests, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to the people of Assam for peace. PM Modi said that no effort is being made to deprive   Assam’s right from the Citizenship Amendment Bill.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on Twitter, I want to assure my brothers and sisters of Assam that they have nothing to worry about after the passing of #CAB. I want to assure them- no one can take away your rights, unique identity and beautiful culture. It will continue to flourish and grow.

Appealing to the people of Assam, PM Narendra Modi said, The Central Government and I are totally committed to constitutionally safeguard the political, linguistic, cultural and land rights of the Assamese people as per the spirit of Clause 6.
