As winter nears, 150 militants are reportedly waiting at launchpads along the Line of Control (LoC) to infiltrate Kashmir, according to BSF Inspector General Ashok Yadav. Security forces, however, are ready to thwart any attempts. Yadav emphasized that continuous intelligence inputs help the BSF coordinate with the army to establish a strong border defense.

The number of militants at these launchpads varies between 130 and 150. Winter is often a time for infiltration attempts, but the BSF has strengthened its position accordingly.

Yadav also highlighted the successful coordination between security forces, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the administration during the peaceful assembly elections. Despite numerous threats, the elections proceeded without incident.

Regarding possible impacts from the West Asia crisis, Yadav noted that no direct connections have been found, but international developments are factored into their security plans. Additionally, the BSF is combatting narcoterrorism, with areas like Tangdhar and Keran under close watch. Special measures, including mobile bunkers and the deployment of women troopers, have curbed narcotics inflow.

Modernizing border management is a priority, Yadav explained, with surveillance technology and counter-drone training now essential parts of soldier training. The use of the iGOT platform for additional training strengthens their capabilities. Security forces remain vigilant, ensuring any infiltration or attack is prevented.
