Army Chief reviews operational readiness and security situation in North-East
New Delhi, 21 May (HS): Indian Army Chief General MM Naravane reviewed the operational readiness along the Northern Borders of Arunachal Pradesh and security situation in hinterland of North East. He arrived at Dimapur (Nagaland) on 20 May on a two day visit to review the readiness on the northeastern border areas. .
On arrival at the Corps Headquarters in Dimapur, the Army Chief was briefed by Lieutenant General Johnson Mathew, General Officer Commanding Spear Corps and the Division Commanders on the prevailing situation and operational preparedness along the Northern borders.
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) complimented all ranks for maintaining excellent vigil and exhorted them to stay alert and keep watch on activities along the LAC.
The Army Chief who is scheduled to return back to New Delhi on 21 May, encouraged the troops stationed along the China border to be vigilant and monitor activities with the LAC.
He also visited remote areas in the north and observed operational preparations by interacting with the deployed troops. General Narwane Commended all ranks for maintaining excellent surveillance along the China border and encouraged them to be vigilant and monitor activities with the LAC.
General Narwane met senior officers on the northern border Assam, Nagaland, Manipur and the interior areas of Arunachal Pradesh who apprised him about operational preparations at the border areas.
