Arms and explosives recovered in Manipur

Imphal : The recovery of arms and explosives continues in the operations being conducted in Manipur. In this connection, a huge quantity of arms and explosives were recovered from different places of the state in the operation of joint security forces.

Manipur Police informed on Saturday that during the operations conducted by the security forces in the border and sensitive areas of the hill and valley districts, four HE-36 hand grenades, two pumpy shells, three detonators, 29 empty boxes, one stun grenade, one stinger grenade, one tear smoke grenade and two radio sets with charger were recovered by Manipur Police and Assam Rifles from Phenom Hill Range of Thoubal district.

During another search operation, Manipur Police and AR recovered two .303 bolt action rifles, one 9mm pistol with magazine, 20 live ammunition, four HE-36 hand grenades, two detonators, one tube launching, one rubber bullet, two SMK grenades, one long range walkie talkie set, one country made mortar bomb without cartridges, one long range improvised mortar shell, one long range improvised mortar, one BP jacket and six miscellaneous items recovered from Loiching Ridge, Kangpokpi district. Raids are being conducted by security forces across the state.
