Anthology of’ love poems’ titled Love Enigmatic’ book release
UDHAMPUR, April 12 (HS):Padamshree Awardee Prof. (Retd) Shiv Nirmohi, releases Ashok Sharma’s book ’Love Enigmatic’.
The anthology of’ love poems’ titled Love Enigmatic’(in English) composed by Ashok Sharma, who is serving as Sr Lecturer (English) in Govt.HSS Thial (Udhampur) was released at a simple but impressive function organised at Hotel Samrat (Udhampur), by well known writer and historian Prof (retd) Shiv Nirmohi, Padamshree. On this occasion, Dr Raman Kesar Addl Transport Commissioner UT of J&K, famous writer and archaeologist Anil Paba, Prof Sumit Magotra and the family members of Ashok Sharma were present. Speaking on the occasion, the speakers described Ashok Sharma as a great academician, besides being a prolific writer and poet.
They said that Ashok Sharma has contributed a lot in highlighting the Dogra Culture, traditions and heritage through his articles published in the newspapers from time to time. They wished him success in his future endeavours and hoped that his creative juices will continue to produce new books and add to literature.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Sharma said that he is not a born writer and he has just made a humble effort to highlight the vanishing Dogra Culture & Heritage and pleaded for its preservation and transmission. He said that he turned to composing poems during the tough times of lockdown imposed with a view to control Covid _19 infection.
He composed about 200 poems out of which 63 have been included in this anthology and 67 in another book titled ‘Sundry Thoughts’ which is likely to be published very soon.
He attributed his writing skill to the blessings of God, his parents & teachers and encouragement & good wishes of his friends, students and the members of his family. who attended the Book launch function included Arunesh Kumar, Ashwani Kumar, Karan Singh, Bishan Sharma. Prof Sunil Bhardwaz conducted the proceedings of the programme.
