An ASI of Delhi police shot himself to death
New Delhi, Feb 27 (HS): An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of Delhi Police, posted on a PCR van, reportedly shot himself dead with his service pistol while he was on duty at Zakhira flyover in west Delhi on Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Tej Pal (55). He was residing in Rajnagar in Ghaziabad, police said.
Police were informed about the incident at around 7 am. The preliminary investigation revealed that the ASI shot himself in the chest. No suicide note was recovered from the spot, a senior police officer said.
Another PCR who rushed to the spot after the incident took Tej Pal to the ABG hospital where he was declared brought dead. The body has been sent for post mortem.
