Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 surpasses $300,000 at the U.S. box office
Telugu films are thriving in the United States, evidenced by the success of the Baahubali series, Kalki 2898 AD, and Salaar-Part 1 – Ceasefire. Recently, the U.S. has emerged as the largest market for Telugu cinema. Remarkably, Telugu has become the 11th most spoken language in the country. Consequently, excitement builds for the next big release: Allu Arjun and Sukumar’s Pushpa 2: The Rule, set to debut on December 5.
As the release date approaches, advance bookings for Pushpa 2 have launched impressively. This enthusiasm reflects the film’s popularity and anticipation. According to Track BO, the film has already crossed the $300,000 mark in pre-sales.
Interestingly, while advance bookings in India are still pending, U.S. audiences have jumped at the chance to secure their tickets. Currently, bookings are available in 606 locations. So far, fans have purchased nearly 11,000 tickets across 2,325 shows, generating an impressive $315,311 (approximately ₹2.65 crore) for its premiere.
Expectations are high for Pushpa 2, especially since distributor Anil Thadani invested about ₹200 crore for its North India distribution rights. The first film, Pushpa: The Rise, achieved significant success, earning ₹106 crore from its Hindi version and ₹267 crore overall in India. This precedent boosts anticipation for the sequel.
Additionally, the film boasts a talented cast, featuring Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Jagapathi Babu, and Prakash Raj. Their star power, combined with Allu Arjun’s immense popularity, contributes to the film’s strong appeal. However, it will face competition upon release, clashing with Vicky Kaushal, Laxman Utekar, and Dinesh Vijan’s Chaava on December 6.
In summary, Pushpa 2 is poised for a spectacular debut in the U.S. and India. The early ticket sales highlight the growing demand for Telugu films, paving the way for continued success in this burgeoning market. As December 5 approaches, fans eagerly await what promises to be another blockbuster hit in the Telugu film industry.
