Allahabad High Court to remain closed for 4 days, commencing tomorrow
PRAYAGRAJ, January 13 (HS): Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court Govind Mathur has ordered that there shall be no sitting of courts on January 14, 15, 16 and 17 at the High Court at Allahabad, only. “In lieu thereof, the courts at Allahabad will sit on January 18, 2021. It is hereby directed that the matters fixed for 15 of January 2021, shall now be taken up on 18 of January 2021, at Allahabad,” reads the order by CJ Allahabad High Court. “In view of the request made by the Secretary, High Court Bar Association, Allahabad, regarding the difficulties faced by learned counsel while commuting to High Court, on account of the huge influx of pilgrims visiting Prayagraj on the occasion of Makar Sankranti on 14 of January 2021, I am satisfied that the circumstances demand for non-sitting of Courts,” further reads the order. There shall be no physical filing/e-filing. Registrar general of the high court confirmed the development and informed that all judicial and administrative sections of high court at Allahabad shall not function on January 14, 15, 16 and 17.
