All passenger trains to remain cancelled till 3 May
Kolkata,14 April(HS): Running of all passenger trains on Indian Railways including all Mail, Express, Passenger trains, Suburban trains and Kolkata Metro Rail will continue to remain suspended till 3 May in accordance with the decision taken by the Railway ministry to defeat the danger of COVID -19.
Informing this sources in Eastern and South-Eastern Railways here today told Hindusthan Samachar this afternoon that, however, in order to maintain essential supplies across the nation, movement of Goods and Parcel trains would continue as per the present schedule.
No booking of any type of Railway tickets, including E-tickets, would be allowed until further order, the sources informed adding. however, the facility of online cancellation of tickets would be continued as before as all counters for ticket booking for UTS and PRS would remain closed till 3 May.
However, a full refund of cancelled tickets would be made for all passenger trains, they said adding for all cancelled trains(till 3 May), refunds would be automatically remitted by the Railways through online to the customers, while those who have booked across the counters would get their full refund till 31 July as special cases under the present circumstances.
