Alia Bhatt responds to Ranbir Kapoor’s backlash at Raj Kapoor’s 100th celebration
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are often under the public’s scrutiny, both for their on-screen chemistry and off-screen relationship. Recently, Ranbir faced backlash after a video showed him seemingly ignoring Alia at Raj Kapoor’s 100th birth anniversary celebration. Critics labeled him “misogynistic” and “unsupportive” following the incident.
However, Alia has publicly supported Ranbir. She liked an Instagram video titled “The Ranbir Kapoor they don’t post about,” which aimed to counter the negative narrative. The video highlighted moments where Ranbir appeared caring toward Alia and his family. The caption called out how a short clip had been taken out of context, misleading viewers.
By liking the video, Alia subtly endorsed her partner, pushing back against the trolling. This isn’t the first time the Kapoor family has addressed such issues. Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Ranbir’s sister, previously spoke about the constant judgment her family faces. She explained that public opinions often distort interviews, creating unnecessary controversies.
In an interview, Riddhima emphasized that Ranbir and Alia are happy together, unaffected by public criticism. “They adore each other,” she said, highlighting their bond and their role as parents to their daughter, Raha. Riddhima also praised Alia for her warmth and kindness. “She’s a great person, kind and giving,” Riddhima shared, stressing Alia’s sincere nature in everything she does.
Meanwhile, Alia’s career continues to thrive. She has several major projects lined up, including the spy thriller Alpha, releasing in Christmas 2025, and Love & War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, which will also feature Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. Additionally, Brahmastra – Part Two: Dev is set for release in 2026.
Despite the public scrutiny, Alia and Ranbir remain focused on their personal and professional lives, ignoring the noise surrounding them.
