Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced plans to use AI to detect mule accounts and curb cybercrime. Chairing a cyber security meeting in New Delhi, he emphasized AI-driven coordination with banks to identify and shut down fraudulent accounts before misuse.

The government also promotes awareness with PM Modi’s “Stop, Think, Act” mantra. Shah reported over 1.43 lakh FIRs on the I4C portal, with 19 crore users benefiting. Authorities blocked 805 apps and 3,266 web links for national security, while banks flagged 19 lakh mule accounts, stopping ₹2,038 crore in fraudulent transactions.

Shah highlighted India’s rapid digital growth, contributing 20% to the economy. The Home Ministry aims to eliminate cybercrime through strategies focusing on convergence, coordination, communication, and capacity-building. Stronger ties between ministries and agencies like CERT-IN, telecom, and banking help in crime prevention.

To boost awareness, Shah urged MPs to promote the ‘1930’ cyber fraud helpline, which assists in blocking compromised accounts. Cybercrime forensic labs now operate in 33 states and UTs, while over 1 lakh police officers have enrolled in cybercrime training programs.

Union Ministers Nityanand Rai, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, and senior officials attended the meeting, reinforcing India’s commitment to a safer digital landscape.
