Afghanistan’s President Ashraf Ghani visits Pakistan
Islamabad, Jun. 27 (HS): Afghan President Ashraf Ghani visited Pakistan. Ghani has arrived in Pakistan for a two-day visit aimed at strengthening ties between the two countries.
President of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani was given Guard of Honour upon his arrival at the Prime Minister house in Islamabad. He met with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan. During the meeting, about regional security and peace process were discussed.
According to Pakistan Foreign minister, “The wide-ranging talks between the two sides would focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation in diverse areas – including political, trade, economic, security, peace and reconciliation, education and people-to-people exchanges.
Afghan president said Pakistan will continue to play its role for peace in Afghanistan with sincerity, good intentions and an open heart during the meeting .
Qureshi said that Pakistan will continue to cooperate with truth, honest intention and open heart in the Afghan peace process. It is notable that this is the third visit of Ghani to Pakistan.
Government of Pakistan said on twitter, ‘One on one meeting held between Prime Minister Imran Khan and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in Islamabad. Matters pertaining to bilateral cooperation in various sectors and regional situation were discussed in the meeting’.
