95 people killed in attack on Mali village
Mali (Africa), June 12 (HS): At least 95 people were killed in a gruesome overnight attack on a village in central Mali, in the latest violence to strike the fragile region.
Interior Security Ministry spokesman Amadou Sangho said, 19 were missing after the ethnic Dogon village of Sobame Da was attacked. Homes were burnt and animals slaughtered. Mali President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita condemned the violence and the killings at a meeting with Malinese people living in Switzerland.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility, though tensions have been high.
