90 killed in rains and landslides in Nepal, 38 injured, 35 missing in Nepal

Kathmandu,July 18 (HS) : Nepal’s death toll has risen to 90 due to floods and landslides. The deathd included 50 men and 40 women. Also 30 people are missing and 43 have been injured. 21 districts are facing problems due to heavy rain .

The number of deaths in Lalitpur, Bhojpur and Rauayatam is high. All provincial governments have decided that they will provide relief to the victims of flood and landslide. Due to floods, the movement of people on major highways is inhibited. In Lilpur, Kavera, Kotang, Bhojpur and Makanpur, there is information that people were killed in different districts.

Water has flooded on the streets. Rescue teams are busy evacuating people from flooded areas. Boats are running on the roads. Nepal Police Headquarters said that on 831 people have been evacuated. Senior Police Superintendent at Police headquarter, Ramesh Thapa told that at least 27,830 police personnel in the country are engaged in rescue work. More than 25 districts and 10,385 families affected by heavy rains. Nepal Army and policemen have taken 3,366 people to safer places .

The Flood Forecasting Division (FFS) has said that monsoon was active and rain would continue for most of the country in the next two to three days. The Weather Forecasting Department (MFD) has warned people to be very alert and said that air and road traffic may be affected due to low visibility. Water levels of rivers have increased due to heavy rains.
