8,380 new cases of covid-19 registered in 24 hours
New Delhi, May 31 (HS): India registered its highest single-day spike of COVID-19 cases on Sunday with 8,380 new infections reported during the last 24 hours. With this figure the total number of infected persons due to corona virus has reached to 1,82,143, while the death toll rose to 5,164, the Union Health Ministry said today.
The number of persons who have recovered from the pandemic is 86,983, which is 45 percent of the total number of people infected, official said. Besides, the number of people who have died of coronavirus in the last 24 hours are 193.
