75 dangerous prisoners run away through a tunnel in Paraguay prison
Asuncion, Jan 20 (HS): At least 75 “highly dangerous” prisoners, many of them members of a notorious Brazilian gang, escaped from a Paraguayan prison through a tunnel they dug. According to the information, all the prisoners had been planning to run for the last one month and finally succeeded.
Paraguay’s Justice Minister Cecilia Pares said that these people smuggled narcotics and weapons. The incident has raised the concern of the authorities. He told that the prisoners must have taken months to build the tunnel. These people must have escaped from the jail at four in the morning. This prison is near the Brazilian border.
Paraguay’s Interior Minister Uslides Acevedo said the government was on alert. At the same time, they have put their best investigators in search of the escaped prisoners. While taking action in this case, many jail patrons have been fired, while several guards have also been arrested.
