5.7-magnitude earthquake in Iran
Tehran, 08 July (HS): An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale felt in western Iran on Monday. According to the US Geological Survey (USGS),t he tremor is believed to have killed at least one person and injured four more people.The quake struck at a depth of 10 kilometres, around 84 kilometres east of Ahvaz, near the country’s border with Iraq.
The center of the earthquake was 10 kilometers below the ground. It was 84 kilometers east of Ahavaz. The cities of Shadegan, Masjed Soleiman, Hamidieh, Shoshtar have also been affected by the quake, with several buildings being destroyed.
