450 cadets did Yoga in NCC camp Nargota
Jammu, 01 July, (HS): With the aim to aware the cadets about importance of Yoga, an hour long Yoga session was organised in NCC camp by a team from Patanjali Yog Sansthan for around 450 cadets. The team educated the cadets about various yoga poses and how these poses can cure physical ailments and correct the alignment of the body. Yoga poses tone the whole body, strengthen bones and muscles, correct posture, improve breathing, and increase energy which is the need of today’s generation.
To inculcate the qualities of alertness and obedience amongst the cadets, drill training has been included in training programme during morning hours.It provides the basis of teamwork and enable the cadets to imbibe the quality of discipline and coordination. Few cadets were trained for guard of honour also.
Cadets are also being given an opportunity to experience weapon handling. The cadets are being trained to fire with .22 rifle at 25 mts firing range. 100% cadets will be made to fire in next seven days of the camp. Apart from developing qualities like balance, coordination, timing and discipline firing is the big motivation for cadets as it provides immense thrill and adventure to them.
Special instructors have been detailed by HQ 16 Corps for taking Map Reading classes for campers. It is one of the special subjects covered under NCC syllabus and remains as an important tool for building children’s spatial reasoning skills and helping them make sense of the world.
After the tough military training of morning session, sports and cultural activities were organised in the evening session to rejuvenate these cadets.
